NRFA Coach of the Month Graphic - Pablo

Join us in shining the spotlight on Coach Pablo, a dedicated NRFA coach who has made a significant impact on the field. With an impressive coaching career spanning seven years, Coach Pablo has nurtured and guided countless young athletes, leaving his mark on their soccer journeys.

Coach Pablo’s own soccer journey began at the age of seven in Smithfield, NC. Over his playing career, Coach Pablo played with a youth league in Smithfield, as well as 94 Johnston United, and for the Varsity Soccer team at Smithfield-Selma High School where he was Team Captain for three years. He continues his soccer journey by currently playing at TASL alongside fellow NRFA Coaches.

Coach Pablo has been a vital part of the NRFA family for the past four years; joining the coaching staff in 2019 as an Academy Junior’s coach, and moving to the Academy Boys team in 2021. In 2020, they also took on the esteemed role of Head Men's & Women's Varsity Soccer Coach at Smithfield-Selma High School, stepping into the position after their esteemed colleague and dear friend, Coach Kate, left SSS.

 

The Academy Boys team is where Coach Pablo now focuses his coaching efforts. While his primary focus is to ensure players have fun and improve each day, his ultimate goal this season is to instill in each player a deep love for the game, fostering a passion that mirrors their own.

For Coach Pablo, the essence of NRFA lies in the camaraderie among the coaching staff and the meaningful relationships forged with players and their families.

When asked to share a quote Coach finds inspiring, it’s no surprise it comes from Pelé, “Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do."

Fun Fact about Coach Pablo: In addition to his passion for soccer, he enjoys traveling. Coach Pablo feels blessed to have family in both Mexico and Guatemala, providing him the opportunities to experience the best of both countries firsthand.
