Academy JR’s
(U6-U8)

For players wanting more advanced training or who are wanting prepare for or see what being in the Academy is like, Neuse River is pleased to offer the Academy Jr's program.

The Neuse River Academy JR’s program is designed to challenge the more advanced youth player in preparation for the Academy. Players that are selected for the Academy JR’s may be a bit more “advanced” in size, speed and or technical ability. Players must also be mature enough to learn in a proper training environment to be selected for the program. Players that are selected for the Academy JR’s program will train with other players similar players that we feel are prepared for more advanced technical training. Not all players are ready for this at such a young age but for those players that are we offer:

·  A developmentally-appropriate curriculum developed by our Academy Director and lead taught by professional staff coaches that will challenge all our Jr’s to reach their fullest potential.

·  Once-a-week outdoor training supplement your child’s recreational team training which will offer more advanced training in a more structured environment. (fall and spring programs will be offered) discounts will be given to full-year Jr players)

·  Limited number of players who are selected based on mental maturity, physical ability, and technical ability to challenge all players involved appropriately.

For more information email Jason King Youth Technical Director  jking@neuserivfa.org

The Jr’s curriculum features a heavy emphasis on individual ball mastery, allowing each player to become more comfortable, confident and creative with their foot skills while nurturing their passion and enjoyment for soccer. Activities and games will follow the best practices of US Soccer and US Youth Soccer.
