I do not have a favorite club, I enjoy all soccer when it is on. I do love watching the USWNT as much as possible.
The game is the teacher.  My job, as a coach, is to modify the learning so that the game can do its job and teach young players how to respect, love, and master the game.  I want to motivate and have fun with players as they competitively enjoy soccer.

Brian Stevens

Head Coach Clayton High School Girls Soccer and 05 ODP Coach
NSCAA Advanced National
Favorite Professional Soccer Club:  Don’t have a favorite Club, because I truly enjoy the beauty and complexity of the game no matter who is playing.
Coaching Philosophy:  I have taught and coached for many years and enjoy seeing youth grow into confident young adults.  I believe in placing players in complex situations where they can learn and develop.  I believe that if a player is placed in their optimal learning environment, they will grow to their potential.  My training philosophy is based on perfect effort, not perfect performance.  I have an open door policy to discuss player development.  I encourage parents to ask questions and engage in their player development in a positive and supportive manner.  Soccer is a sport that develops life skills, so my players are taught and expected to respect the sport and everyone involved in the sport including fellow players, coaches, referees, and opponents.  Although winning is great, I believe it is a byproduct of hard work, determination, and player development.

Coaching Philosophy:  I want to light a spark in my players by providing quality training sessions where “the game is the teacher”.  Actively participate in coach guided, not coach directed training sessions.  Energize my players through my own passion for the game.  Promote watching other levels of play and encouraging competition while maintaining good sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity.  "Let your game do you’re talking.  DO what you SAY, SAY what you DO"

Edgar Fabricio Lemus Sr.

Coaching Philosophy:  Discipline, respect, hard work and have fun while doing it. I don't consider Success winning every game, I consider success when I can get an entire group of kids to play together as 1 team, And to see every kid playing better than when the season first starts.

He’s worked with clubs in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, as well as several years of coaching and playing experience in Hambach Germany. After coming back from Germany his primary focus has been to improve the technical ability in our youth players in the US starting with our academy players. Coaching Philosophy: My focus, as a coach, is very much about “player development”. I want to encourage the players to be creative with the ball.  I want to help give the players a chance to learn soccer skills, strive to improve speed & strength, grow and have some fun along the way. We will stay focused on the ability to control and manipulate the ball, and learn tactical awareness during the play of the game. I want them to learn a little more about the game of soccer and hope to develop in them a love for the game, while trying to teach them about team spirit, good sportsmanship, improve and master soccer skills. I will do my best to refrain from “over-coaching.”

Rick Miller

Favorite Professional Soccer Team Bayern Munich
Coaching Philosophy:  I believe that being a coach is a greater responsibility than teaching kids to play soccer, helping them navigate the challenges in life by focusing on Character, Integrity and teamwork.  How you carry yourself in life will dictate your success, both on and off the field.  I like to play and coach a possession style of soccer, working the ball out of the back through all thirds of the field, using width and depth to open up attacking space.  I feel a player should leave all they have on the field, it does not matter if you are the best player on the field, but if you were the best YOU on the field.  I encourage my players to strive harder to excel at the best of their ability and to continue to fail harder.  The harder you fail, the harder you work, the better.

Coaching Philosophy:  I believe that player development is more important than a win/loss record.  I believe in and teach “possession” soccer.  I believe that a good coach can make a life-long positive impact on kids they come in contact with.  I originally started coaching to spend more quality time with my own kids.  Once I got a taste of coaching, it quickly turned into a lifelong passion.  My ultimate goal through coaching is to teach this beautiful game and be a positive role model for the kids I am fortunate enough to work with.
